Part Two: From Dessert Pot to Dessert Cart: Bringing the Vision to Life

If you haven't read Part One yet, go back and start there — this story makes a lot more sense from the beginning.
So. The cart.
We left off having saved every penny we could throughout 2025, with a vision that had been growing for over a year. We knew what we wanted it to look like, what we wanted it to do, and most importantly, we knew why we were building it.
And that "why" matters more than people might think.
Why a Dessert Cart? The Gap We Kept Noticing
Walk into almost any corporate function, wedding reception, or evening event and you'll find the same thing: a bar. Drinks flowing, glasses clinking, and for anyone who doesn't drink — or just doesn't want to — there's usually... not a lot going on.
That always stood out to us.
Events are about people. They're about connection, conversation, and moments that guests actually remember. And we kept thinking: there has to be a way to give people something to do, something to gather around, something genuinely exciting, that has nothing to do with alcohol.
That's what the dessert cart is. A reason to gather. A talking point. An experience.
What the Cart Actually Is
The House of Bakes dessert cart is a fully portable, purpose-built setup that we can bring directly to your event. It's not a table with some brownies on it. It's a proper, beautifully designed interactive dessert experience — and it's entirely tailored to you.
Depending on your event, your guests, and what you want the moment to feel like, the cart can feature:
Freshly made pancakes or crepes
Fresh waffles
Indulgent brownies and blondies
Beautiful individual cakes
And more — the menu is built around your event, not a fixed list
But it doesn't stop at the food.
Packaging can be personalised and custom-branded, think your wedding colours, your company logo, your event theme. Every detail can be considered, because that's how we work. The product is never an afterthought.
Who It's For
Honestly? Anyone who wants their event to be remembered.
We've already had enquiries from couples planning their wedding receptions, corporate event organisers looking for something a little different, and businesses hosting product launches or client evenings. The cart works across all of them.
Weddings — a dessert cart moment that guests actually talk about
Corporate functions and launches — something memorable that isn't just another canape round
Parties and private events — because not every celebration needs a cake sitting on a table
Exhibitions and trade shows — draw people to your stand with something genuinely delicious
If you're planning something and you want your guests to leave with a smile on their face and a dessert in their hand, this is for you.
The Bit That Took the Longest
The cart itself took time...not just to save for, but to get right. We were specific about what we commissioned. It needed to look the part, function practically, and represent House of Bakes properly.
It had to feel like us: elevated, considered, and a little bit special.
We think it does.
What's Next
The cart is here. The menu is being finalised. And we're now taking enquiries for events.
If you'd like to find out more — whether you're planning a wedding, an event, or something corporate — you can get in touch via our custom orders page or drop us a message directly. We'd love to talk through what we can put together for you.
This idea started with a brownie in a pot and a slightly chaotic market stall set-up. It's come a long way.
We can't wait to show you what it looks like in action.
